Contrary to popular belief and following on from my previous blog surrounding the “perfect body” (you can read it here), I wanted to touch upon the subject of strip tease and lapdancing.
Seduction relies on so much more than looks. It’s all about incorporating all of the senses to give them an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re dancing for your partner in the bedroom, or you’re a stripper who’s new on the scene and looking for tips for stag do shows and club shifts, here’s how to prepare. Go through the five senses (sight, smell, sound, touch and taste) and tick off one at a time.
Sight: • matching lingerie • jewellery • hair • makeup • nails
It’s important to note there is no right or wrong here. What makes YOU feel sexy? For me it’s a strong red lip and an Ariana Grande ponytail but don’t feel pressured to be dolled up to the nines if that’s going to throw you off. Being clean and presentable is essential but the rest is interchangeable.
Smell: • Perfume • body spray • moisturiser
Once you’ve started to make money (if you’re here to join the industry), investing in a luxury fragrance is well worth it. Smell is a huge part of seduction. My personal favourite is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle – I always get compliments on how amazing I smell during a dance. A cheaper alternative is the Hawaiian Tropic body mist in Golden Paradise – it smells just like holiday and is another one I get endless compliments on. You can pick it up in Boots, Superdrug and most supermarkets for around £10.
Sound
Create a new playlist. Stick to around 10 songs. Play, play, play. In the car, the shower, the gym, and get super familiar with your tracks. Select music that makes you feel powerful, sexy, and isn’t too fast or slow, depending on what type of dancer you are. Love to twerk, bounce and whip your hair? Try Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion or Busta Rhymes. Perhaps you prefer a slow and sensual dance. Usher, The Weeknd and Rihanna’s slow jams are perfect. Whispering the lyrics in their ears always gets me a great reception.
Touch
Now we all know the recipient is not allowed to touch the dancer, but touching is sometimes applicable depending on your venue or show, or of course if you’re treating your partner to a private dance at home. Soft sensual dances require feather light touches; good places are cupping the chin, down the thighs and up the arms. Spicy, wild shows are a great opportunity for props such as floggers, paddles and whips.
Taste • Chocolate sauce • Fruit • Honey
And finally, get their taste buds tingling!
Good luck, be safe and have fun.
Love, Demi
